Ingredients

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and brown sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish to form the crust.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and maple syrup until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
  5. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the prepared crust and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix the powdered sugar with the softened cream cheese and milk until smooth to create the glaze.
  8. Once the cheesecake is cool, drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the top before slicing into bars.

Notes

Tip: For an extra flavor boost, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon to the cheesecake mixture.

For best results, make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before mixing; this ensures a smooth and lump-free batter. If you want to cut down on calories, consider using low-fat cream cheese and a sugar substitute instead of maple syrup. You can also swap pecans for walnuts or almonds for a different flavor twist.

Store leftover bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. They can also be frozen for up to a month; simply thaw in the fridge before serving.
