Ingredients

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 large jalapeños
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 12 slices of bacon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes with a spoon.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well blended.
  4. Stuff each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture.
  5. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with a slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick if necessary.
  6. Place the wrapped poppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the jalapeños are tender.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Note: For a smoky flavor, consider using smoked bacon or adding a dash of smoked paprika to the cheese filling.

For an extra kick, add some finely chopped fresh herbs or spices to the cream cheese filling. If you’re looking to lower the heat, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeños before stuffing them. These poppers can be easily stored in the fridge for up to 2 days before cooking, and they reheat well in the oven!
