Ingredients

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar. Mix well.
  3. Add softened butter, egg yolk, and salt to the dry ingredients. Blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Press the dough into a 9-inch tart pan evenly across the bottom and up the sides. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent puffing.
  5. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until set. Allow it to cool completely.
  6. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  7. Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and glossy.
  8. Pour the chocolate mixture into the cooled tart crust, spreading it evenly.
  9. Top with fresh blackberries, pressing them gently into the chocolate filling.
  10. Refrigerate the tart for at least 3 hours or until set.
  11. Once set, slice and serve, garnished with mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Tip: For an added layer of flavor, consider adding a splash of espresso to the chocolate mixture before pouring it into the crust.

For the best results, use high-quality dark chocolate for the filling, as it greatly enhances the flavor of the tart. If you prefer a sweeter dessert, feel free to adjust the sugar in the chocolate filling to your taste.

Store leftover tart in the refrigerator for up to three days, but it’s best enjoyed fresh. To serve, consider garnishing with additional blackberries and a dusting of powdered sugar for a beautiful presentation.
