- 1 cup fresh cranberries, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Layer half of the sweet potato slices in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

- Pour half of the cream mixture over the first layer of sweet potatoes.

- Repeat the layers with the remaining sweet potatoes, cream mixture, and cranberries, finishing with a layer of sweet potatoes on top.
- If using, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and chopped pecans on the top layer.

Notes
Tip: For a touch of gourmet flair, consider adding a sprinkle of fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme before serving.
For the best flavor, use freshly grated cinnamon instead of ground cinnamon. You can also experiment with different types of nuts like pecans or walnuts for added crunch. If you want a dairy-free version, substitute the heavy cream with coconut cream and the butter with a plant-based alternative.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture or microwave for quick servings.
