Ingredients

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 package of puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed and cut into small pieces
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp honey (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut them into 3-inch squares.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until well combined.
  4. Place a small piece of brie cheese in the center of each puff pastry square, followed by a spoonful of the apple mixture.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a pocket, pinching the edges to seal. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  6. Place the filled pastry bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and flaky.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before drizzling with honey.

Notes

Tip: Serve these bites warm for the best flavor and texture!

For extra crunch, consider adding a handful of chopped nuts to the filling, such as walnuts or pecans. You can also experiment with different types of apples; tart varieties like Granny Smith add a nice contrast to the richness of brie.

Storing leftovers? Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore their crispiness!
