Ingredients

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 2 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Additional peach slices and basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil in a pot.
  2. Remove from heat and steep the black tea bags for 5 minutes.
  3. While tea is steeping, blend the sliced peaches and fresh basil until smooth.
  4. Strain the peach-basil mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, discarding the solids.
  5. Stir in the honey or agave syrup until dissolved.
  6. Add the brewed tea to the pitcher and mix well.
  7. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the peach-basil tea over the ice.
  8. Using a frother or blender, froth the tea mixture until light and airy.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with additional peach slices and basil leaves.

Notes

Tip: For a dairy-free version, use coconut cream to froth the tea for a creamy texture.

For an extra boost of flavor, try using herbal or green tea instead of regular black tea. If fresh peaches aren’t in season, frozen peaches can be a great alternative. Just thaw them before blending for a smooth consistency.

Store any leftover iced tea in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To serve, simply re-froth it or stir well before enjoying. This drink also makes a wonderful base for a light cocktail – just add a splash of your favorite spirit!
