Ingredients

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 bone-in chicken thighs
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in a large resealable bag or bowl, pour the marinade over, and ensure they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.
  4. On a baking sheet, spread the broccoli florets and drizzle with a bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
  5. Arrange the marinated chicken thighs on the baking sheet with the broccoli, ensuring they are spaced apart.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  7. During the last few minutes of cooking, switch to broil for a crispy skin, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the chicken and broccoli before serving.

Notes

Tip: For a thicker glaze, simmer the leftover marinade in a saucepan until it reduces and thickens before drizzling over the chicken.

For optimal flavor, marinate the chicken thighs for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours. If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze.

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave. For an extra crispy skin, broil the chicken for the last few minutes of cooking.
